Washington DC Zoo!

We had a GREAT time today.  After moving to Virginia, Olivia and I have been taking full advantage of all the wonderful things that Washington DC has to offer.  This is our latest exploration - the Washington National Zoo.  This is only a snipit of what we saw.  I didn't take too many pictures but we have many more trips to the Zoo to come, I'm sure.  Enjoy :)

 Coming up from the Metro
 It's a 2 minute escalator ride up.

Olivia was pretty impressed

Cheetah!

Panda munching down on some bamboo. I don't know which one this is but he/she
was clearing the bamboo stalk pretty quick.

Tucan

Burrowing Owls

This was absolutely hilarious.  There were these two turkey birds (they were big phesants or something) and the male was chasing the female around like CRAZY. I kept telling Olivia, "I'm gonna getcha...I'm gonna getcha!" It was too funny!

Olivia waiting for the turkeys to come around again.

Olivia and I in the turkey area

The macaw shared the turkey area along with various other birds.

Burrowing Owl again. So pretty!

Beaver

Mr. Beaver again.

Our National Bird - the Bald Eagle

Beautiful Lions - big Cats.

Pandora the 5 year old Octopus.

This is Pandora the Octopus - it's a terrible video because Olivia didn't know I was videotaping.
Nut-ball!

This is a video of the 2 minute escalator ride back down to the Metro.
It's a little dark but you get the picture.
