Summer 2011

We had such a wonderful and memorable summer. Olivia finished her first year at Bartsow in Pre-K and then we set into a world of staying up late, getting up late, swimming lessons, playing in the park, playing with friends, and taking two wonderful vacations with the Laws and the Moorheads.

It's hard to believe that tomorrow begins Olivia's first day of Kindergarten but it is and thus today ends Summer 2011. It has been truly wonderful.

Our trip began in Kansas City to St. Louis to New Orleans to Destin to Houston to Austin to Dallas to Joplin, MO and back to Kansas City. A wonderful and memorable road trip for the family.

St. Augustine 2011
After the Destin trip Olivia and Stephanie had a three day turn around before they hopped on a plane back to the Sunshine State. We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa for a week on the Atlantic Coast in St. Augustine, a favorite spot for the Moorheads to vacation for many decades now. The following pictures are from that trip.

The St. Augustine lighthouse from the inside. We only made it up to the third landing before we decided that we could just enjoy the view from the ground. We also thought that if Kathleen were there, she would have climbed to the top. :)

The Spanish fort in St. Augustine is a treasure trove to visit for kids.

St. Augustine is also the home of the first Catholic parish in the United States. Founded in 1565, it is a vibrant community with wonderful grounds for prayer and reflection.
